Hey there! I’m Ricardo.
My journey into sound design and production kicked off when I needed to create sounds for the first video game I ever created: Pejes Vs Zombies.
I didn’t want to buy sounds from the marketplace since none of them had that quirky, funny vibe I was aiming for. So, I fired up Reason Studio 5 and got creative!
The evolution of those game sounds can be seen in this video:

At first, I used simple “pew, pew” sounds (or “paz, paz!” in Spanish) for the guns. Fun fact: I made those by chopping up bits of a speech from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador! But… my players weren’t exactly fans of it. Some said the sounds were kinda annoying, so I tweaked them. Now they’ve got a more traditional gun-like feel.
The latest sounds can be heard in this video
Another sound challenge was the Peje Zombie.
This character is infected with Covid-99, turning them into a raging demon who despises you and calls you “chairo” (a not-so-nice term used in Mexico for supporters of AMLO’s “4T” movement). To make the Peje Zombie’s voice, I recorded my own, then messed around with pitch and effects until it sounded like a terrifying creature.
I also created the background music for the game, which you can now find on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and most other music distribution platforms.
Throughout my sound design journey, I’ve crafted sounds for other games too.
One of them is
Learn Spanish VR for Oculus Quest.
In this game, you learn Spanish by hearing real-world recordings of words, some of which I created with help from a family member. And, of course, I made the soundtrack too.
Then there’s Illuminati Simulator VR. For this one, I recycled some of the sounds from my previous projects, so if you’ve played my other games, you might recognize a few of them!
On the music side of things, I’ve also dabbled in different genres. You can check out my releases here:
